Found this little beauty in a quite lucrative job-lot (in my opinion anyway)

What say ye' on the grade of this?

I'm going to say VF-30, looks like it may have been cleaned at some time or another.

Numis, it is not that I don't like it, I just do not know a thing about them. Could not grade or price it if I had to. Still, I think it is beautiful and would own it in a heartbeat.

What is it worth, anyway?

My book says £5 in F but I am suspicious of the value given for VF-grade which it gives as £30!

I would have guessed around the same as Echi as a VF or aVF...yes it looks cleaned to me also

I'm sorry, I must have missed this one with the Thanksgiving holiday--

I'm going to agree and say it's VF in American terms, I guess in International parlance it would be a/VF; I also see evidence of a cleaning or some very spotty, light corrosion. All in all, I like it.

I'm a big fan of coins and stamps of the realm--there wouldn't be as much interesting stuff to collect if not for the empires of the world.

Heh, Thanksgiving - uniquely American, we don't have that here of course. Lucky you I guess.
Anyways thanks for looking... by the way I don't remember if you have said you received the coins yet?

I'm going to have to go with the crowd and call it VF. If it makes you feel any better about value, SCWC says it's worth $10.

Yes, I did Matty-true beauties! I'm organizing Germany right now (stamps and coins) and hoping to do Great Britain/Colonies after the New Year. When I post pics I hope you'll recognize how your coins feature prominently among my favorites!
