Wrong, that is fantastic. I really have no idea on value but would love to have one. I will watch the thread and hopefully learn. You say change from the grocery. I never find anything in my change, I always seem to have to buy my stuff. Great find and congratulations. Jim

Jim, I have searched over 10,000 pennies, and never found anything as significant as this, and although I got this in change, it has made my searching worth while. Not monetary, but to say, "I found one." whoooohooooo

Would anyone think this could go for MS-63? I am reading what PCGS says about MS-63.
"MS-63 This is for "Mint State" (the grade) and "63" (the numerical designation of that grade). The equivalent of "choice" or "Choice BU" from the days before numerical grading was prevalent. This grade is usually found with clean fields and distracting marks or hairlines on the devices OR clean devices with distracting marks or hairlines in the fields. The strike and luster can range from mediocre to excellent."

there's a lot of nicks and hits on the rim outside "cent" "united" to the right of the building, on the rim next to america and one. and the many dark spots. I don't think you can get 63 status. You also gopt something going in a diagnol on the steps, what's that?

those are scratches. guess I'll be lucky to get $20 for it.It figures that I FINALLY find a rare coin variety and it has damage on it. JUST MY LUCK I think I will still put it on ebay. Just won't get what I thought it was worth. But I don't think I should just give it away either, will still have to put a samll reserve on it. The damage does not take away the rest of the coin, it is still a DDR, and a rare DDR at that. I seen them go for $1000's, someone might want it for alot less than that. Who Knows?

I would say it would go for $70-$140 is what it would go for on ebay, an MS 62 red just went for $152, a MS 65 went for $455. It would depend on the listing, make sure it ends on the weekend especially at night, you will get more. I would also like to say congratulations!!! I am jealous.

Nice find. I am not into Lincoln's much so can't speak to it's relative value but love to see free finds. Congrats!

This coin has to grade at less than MS-60 since there is light wear, damage and the discoloration which are actually spots indicating the beginning of corrosion. 75 to 100 bucks is probably about right but who knows on ebay. A little history...They were first discovered back in 1983 in the Lancaster PA area. When I lived in Lebanon County, (right next to a portion of Lancaster) I collected six of them as roll finds. All at different times. I sold 5 and kept one:-) I am curious as to how far away from PA you discovred this particular coin. Nice Find! Thanks, Bill

That is GREAT! Very Impressive!
Having one of those work its way to OKlahoma has got to be a once in a lifetime situation! Why don't you put it in a holder and keep it:-)? (unless you have another one in your collection:-)
