KurtS Pillar of the Community United States 5318 Posts	Posted 12/02/2007 1:18 pm Noticing this coin on an ebay auction (290186723853), and correlating with a recent HA auction, I thought I'd disclose the previous auction details, in the remote chance he/she reads this here. The seller claims: "Trends in PCGS PriceGuide for $4,850 in EF-45." However, that assumes the rim damage would not damage that trend price. Indeed, this coin's last sale only brought $920 among 10 bidders on 9-26-07 (Auction 446, lot 84). I don't see much wrong with it now, and well done actually by the buyer/seller for flipping it with a nice profit in my opinion. Still has the "trends" portion in the listing though. KurtS Pillar of the Community United States 5318 Posts	Posted 12/02/2007 9:16 pm Perhaps I'll just chalk it up to savvy "coin flipping", but the fact is he pays one price reflecting a damaged coin, then he turns around and makes a misleading claim as to its value. On the "flip side" any smart bidder should check auction histories beforehand to ascertain a market value. Caveat Empor! Report this Post to the Staff
