I was wondering if there was anyone who collected uncirculated straps (100 notes per strap). For example a UNC $1 Star note strap or a strap of $2 bills?

So do you search these for errors, serials and stars and put them back in the strap?

Well if I get a circulated strap, I usually look for any old notes (small, centre portrait-pre 1995), and serial numbers. Usually I don't care too much for star notes unless they are really old, or in UNC condition.

For UNC straps, I just save the strap becuase I think it's pretty cool to just have 100 brand new dollar bills all in concequite order.

I imagine this can get pretty expensive when you get to $50 and $100 bills.

I don't collect them per se but I do own several packs. I usually get a brick of $1's and $2's every years to spend. Alfter searching for stars and cool numbers. I just ordered a brick of the new $5's. All the bank cashier said is, "You know that's $5,000.00 ...right?" I just smiled and said, "yes. 10 packs of 100 bills each =1,000 bills and each one is worth $5.00 ...so, yeah that makes $5,000.00"

Just give me a call in March when they arrive.

I'm lucky if I can collect more than 5 $1 bills at any given time...
