The inscription is shun zhi tong bao (#38918;#27835;#36890;#23542;) which was the inscription used on coins cast during the reign (1644-1661) of the Shunzhi Emperor.
No one is really sure what animals are represented on the reverse side because this charm is a modern creation.
There are no "old" versions of this charm.
