I would have also passed on the 1831. I think that his photos are overexposed on that one, but I don't see any obvious signs of cleaning on it. It's the two large scratches near the eagle's beak on that coin that make me want to pass on it.
On your coin, there seem to be a few hairlines on the left obverse field, and the reverse just looks "off" to me. Take some pics when you get it, though, because it could just be the mylar playing tricks on me.
