If I remember correctly you cannot state the grade if the coin is not in like pcgs, anacs or nga slab right? So this is a listing with a misleading title. Report! I've done so. The coin sure enough doesn't look MS 65 to me!

You have a "violator" there. I reported a couple yesterday. Let's keep it going until they are all gone.

Guys, are saying that ebay will not let someone reference a coin grade unless it is in one of the big three slabs? As much as I would like to see it, it sure seems like a lawsuit in the making, to me. IMHO, anyway. Can someone explain a little further, please?

Jim,

If it is not slabbed by one of the ebay recognized TPGs (PCGS, NGC, ANACS, and ICG), you can not assign a numerical grade in the title/subtitle or list it as certified. I believe you are free to do so in the text of your comments. You can use MS, BU, AU, XF, etc.

I think this is best for the hobby. Let's face it, 99% of the non-recognized TPG grades are fantasies. We've had truth in advertising statutes on the books for many years to protect consumers. This is a bit of a twist on that, but if the basement TPGs want to be legit, they need to clean up their act before entering a courtroom, IMHO.

I'm not a lawyer but as a private business I (would think) ebay has the right to recognize, or not, whoever they see fit.

And either way I doubt any "grader" would want to draw even more attention... with a lawsuit that basically says, "Why does ebay consider us a POS company?"
