This German seller has several counterfeit Seated coins on ebay right now. This particular one is an 1840 dollar with motto (the motto didn't arrive until 1866) and weighing in at 19 grams. I emailed the seller and advised him/her that the coins were fakes and should not have the mottos/mintmarks that are on these coins and should weigh around 27 grams. He/she said "Thanks" in the reply but did not alter the listings. I sent all the listings to ebay yesteday. Let's see if they react in time.

Well the seller has this for sale:

"Antique Coin One Dollar 1804 AUTHENTICITY GUARANTEED"

so um yeah... what a laugh...

Too bad some bidder is going to win this for $112.49 in less than 6 hours.

looks like it made it up to $152.50 by the end of the auction. I like the way he calls the eagle side the "Front" of the coin and the seated liberty side the "Back" of the coin
