I hate being sniped, so I don't do it to other people. For a coin I really want, I bid it up early to where the snipers are either out of the game or they have to go to the moon to get it.

Sniping is easy and quick. It's not illegal nor inappropriate. If I bid $101.76 on an item 5 days before the auctions end then someone will just keep making small bids until they surpass my Max. If I make that same bid 5 seconds before the end of the auction then no one else sees my bid. If they wanted it they certainly had the option of placing their own max bid. If they loose it's not because I bid late...it's because they didn't really bid what they were truly willing to pay.

Sniping in very legal and has saved me a ton of cash. Bidding with 2 seconds left robs people of the ability to second guess their bids, thereby keeping costs down. Check out https://www.Cnet.com for some good options.

(note to self: when bidding against GO bid in 77 cent intervals)

You'll never figure out my system because I don't have one. I bid completely randomly like $56.78 or $5.31 and so forth.

I use auctionsniper.com. It's 25 cents a snipe, and only charges you if you win. It's saved me a ton of money. On the flip side, I don't mind sniper programs as a seller either, I've had coins double in price in the last 10 seconds of the auction. Nobody seems to make a serious bid before the last minute of the auction anyway
