eye appeal does affect the grade of uncirculated coins, although not by much. that dollar with ugly black toning is an MS66, but the same dollar with attractive toning or rich white luster may increase to MS67, but rarely a jump more than that. eye appeal is one of the least important features of an MS coin, but still does affect the grade.
