Its offical- the second West Point mint marked Silver American Eagle is sold out. This coin debuted last year and was included in the 20th Anniv Silver Eagle Set, the 20th Anniv 2 coin Gold and Silver Eagle set, and sold individually with a total of about 470,000 minted. The final figures are not out quite yet, but this year's mintage is only about 100,000 more than last year! The 2006-W had an issue price of $19.95 and currently sells for about $100. The issue price this year was $21.95. With a mintage of less than 600,000 this one will probably have a strong price in the next few months. I placed an order with the Mint about three weeks ago. I received an email a few days ago stating that the Eagles were backordered and would have a ship date of 12/19. I check my email today and saw an email stating that they are sold out and it appeared that my order was cancelled I immediately freaked out and searched ebay for the lowest possible prices as quickly as possible. I managed to purchase 6- 2 NGC graded, 1 PCGS graded, and three in OGP- for about $180. I believe that the price of these on ebay is going to be shooting up in the next week or so as word of the sell-out goes around. If you want some, might be best to buy in the next day or two

I had the good fortune to order 4 of the 2006-W pieces at issue price. I knew there would be some appreciable value in them. When I realized that shortly after I ordered mine they had sold out I decided to find a few more. I managed to pick up 2 more NGC MS-69 examples before the price was too high. The day the 2007-W were available I bought 5 of them. I have a few unc. ASE's from other years but never got into collecting them. I have them for the bullion value. with the W mint-marked pieces the purchase was almost solely for future resale. Jim

I've got plenty. After they first came out, folks on this site and other coin talking sites were bad mouthing the coin. Calling it simple bullion and how they all will pass.
From the begining, I realized that this would be the second lowest mintage of all the silver eagles and I've had faith that it also would reach the $100 coin level, in time. Now comes the wait and see period. I'm sitting on 600 of them so hopefully, I'll see some profit. If not ..no biggie. I'm got 1,000 06W's last year and sold off a couple hundred of those to buy 600 of the 07's. It's all the house's money at this point.

My local coin shop is selling the 2007 W ASE for like $25 each. This was just 2 days ago. I think tomorrow I'm going to go down there and buy all they got!

I just picked up the only 3 2007 W ASE my coin shop had for $29 each. They knew they where sold out and still sold to me for this price. Maybe they just like me. I'm glad I got the right ones, because I wasn't sure if it was the Proof or regular 2007 W to get. So I got the right one, I hope.

I ordered mine from the mint but it has not shipped yet. Does that mean they can cancel it and tell me they don't have it anymore? Or do they have to send it because I purchased it prior to them "selling out", technically they did not yet charge me for the item.

And cant you still get a 2007 W here https://catalog.usmint.gov/webapp/w...ory_rn=10054I personally do not like this set I think the mint is just trying to make money but it's still at the mint so I do not think the value is going to rise too quickly..
