Hello all,

I'm new to looking for errors and came across this as what I think may be a Cud. On both wheat stalks there seems to be a blob of extra copper. Can any one help me with this? Thank you.

Those are die chips I believe they are called and are common on wheat cents. A Cud extends onto the coin from the rim like the coin below. At least that is what I have been told.

Hi

Here are a few pics. of the same coin with
chips that may be similar to yours. There is
also a die crack too. (middle arrow I believe)
on first photo. It is a 1955-P. One of a few
50's I have like that. They seem to be pretty common
during that decade on wheat cents.

Yep, The coin at the top of the thread exhibits die chips.

AND...Jorgy is right a Cud involves the rim like the coin he pictured.

Thank you all for the education. Ok, I have a die chip. I am assuming a Cud has much higher value than a die chip. Is there any value in a die chip like I posted?

Small die chips like the ones on your coin add little to no value to the coin .

The reason I say little to no is because there are a few folks that find them interesting and may give a lttle extra for them ,,but in the big picture they carry no added value .

Die chips in the 1950s were extremely common. There would be no added value.
