As far as the surface it's a bit scudzy, try the water, acetone Verdi-Care treatment and it will look a lot better. 1849 N-12 R.1 12/12- Report this Post to the Staff

Grellman. Bob Grellman is the definitive expert on Braided Hair Large Cents. Ordering info can be found here; http://www.largecents.net/books/latedatebook.html Another excellent resource is "United State Copper Cents 1816-1857" by Howard Newcomb. This is the main book I use for attribution but seeing as it was published in 1945 it is a little out of date.
