1921 "boxer" Peace Dollar

Yogisd1 New Member United States 16 Posts	Posted 04/07/2015 05:58 am I have a chance to pick up a pair of 1921 Peace dollars. I call them "Boxers" because they look like their noses have been broken. Needless to say I have doubts that they are genuine. Has anyone seen anything like this before? I've always wanted one, but I want to know it's a real one before I buy. I agree with Chute that the first one has some kind of damage to the nose. Can you post a picture of the reverse if you are still worried? Report this Post to the Staff

That's what a 1921 should look like, although the top one has something going on at the nose - note the circle of different color like something splashed onto it. These are more available than the market thinks, and tend to be overpriced. I wouldn't give more than $100 for the pair, maybe a little more. Report this Post to the Staff

It would be a chance but one with a decent upside. The fact I wouldn't give $150 for them doesn't mean I don't think I could get $100 each on ebay. Report this Post to the Staff

I know it is more money, but there are an abundance of these coins in much better condition for a collection. I would rather pay a few bucks more for a better coin. Report this Post to the Staff
