Grading Fee's are about $20.00 to $25.00. If the note comes back CH/CU63 the value jumps to about $90.00 and it would be well worth it. I don't think, based on the photo's that the note is a choice uncirculated. Even an AU grade might not be worth the investment in the fee's. The "D" designates the Cleveland Federal Reserve Bank and they produced 20.2 million of them! I would pick up a plastic small note sleeve to protect it and stash it away. Again, nice catch!! Mike

Actually, this is a New York note. The name of the Federal Reserve Bank Branch can be seen in the Federal Reserve Seal. Also, the B at the beginning corresponds to the Branch, YOu will also see the B in the seal and the number 2 four times on the note.

My Apologies for the mistake! I had "D" on my brain, the series letter, not the Federal Reserve designation. It is in fact a "B" designation of The New York Federal Reserve Bank. The fact is the New York note is 3 times more common (technically) than the Cleveland Note because over 64 million of them were printed vs. about 20 million on The Cleveland note. This drops the XF value to about $25.00 from about $30.00. Thanks for the correction gatzdon! Mike

Your note, in my opinion, would be an XF grade. That center fold and slightly bent corners makes it not quite an AU grade. You could probably get close to $20 for it on ebay. But a dealer would probably sell it for $25-$30. Better to just keep it for old times sake. No need to be graded since you can get an uncirulated one for less than $50 on ebay.

As stated above the crease is very evident in these pictures and I agree an AU grade is a long shot and does not increase its value very much. I sold 51 notes through Bobby And Susans ebay store over the last month or so including an Unc. in this series that went for in the high forties. I agree with XF grade. Nice keeper, low value common note but worth at least twice what you "paid" for it!! Mike
