looks like gas bubbles. this was the first year for zinc cents and for the several years they had a problem with gas bubbles forming between the copper and zinc. the end result of these bubbles is usually that one bursts and the coim starts to rot.

Those were caused from a poor rinse that left some reside on the planchet. after plating the bumps appeared. They get worse with time so those are something you want to avoid on coins you are thinking of purchasing. https://www.coincommunity.com/forum..._chip_ER.jpg
I refer to it as orange rind. Just a heads up on coins that you want to keep away from as they will not be good ones to re-sell later. Ignore the bottom image. It was just one in the collage I made from the same time as the rest of the images.

Used to see a lot of the ones like coop shows. I thought they were rare back then but soon noticed lots and lots of them showing up. If all pot marked like coop's, kind of neat looking. Tell people it has a slight illness.
