hey all,

I made my first purchase on ebay for 1oz of 90% silver u.s. coins. I was satisfied with the lot, decent Franklin half a decent looking '54 quarter, 2 mercs('24,43'), and two roosevelts. One of the roosevelt's looks pretty dang nice. At first I was anxious because all I could see was the near perfect mint luster of a dime. I thought to myself that's probably not old. However, to my surprise it was minted 1964 in philly.
The coin looks better in person imho and the reeding around the coin is in dang good condition. I don't expect the coin to be of an incredibly high grade bc I am quite the noob. Here are a few photos

Assuming the silver lot on e-bay was not uncirculated coins, I am forced to give your 64
roosie CH AU-58. my most deciding factor: too many little hits obv. and rev.
IMHO

This. I'm not sure the coin actually circulated, but you have to consider how a coin might acquire marks like that without circulating. This - like everything else in numismatics - is a judgment call. Could these marks reasonably occur due to Mint handling? Because to be Mint State after 50 years, the coin had to sit still somewhere for the vast majority of that time.

The lot is supposed to contain at least 1 uncirculated coin but who knows. Seemed like a reliable seller but who knows. I will say the hair line details are the sharpest I've seen in person for any roosie (haven't seen too many nice ones I suppose).
