Widely regarded as one of the industry's most accomplished experts, Gengerke brings decades of experience to the leading grading service from a career that has included stops at Stack's Bowers, Christie's and Sotheby's.

Gengerke has consulted for numerous agencies including the Federal Reserve Banks of San Francisco, New York and Philadelphia, as well as the Smithsonian Institution and Colonial Williamsburg. His awards include the American Numismatic Association's President's Medal and the first award ever bestowed by the Numismatic Literary Guild for excellence in cataloging.
Gengerke has published two books, U.S. Paper Money Records and American Numismatic Auctions and was the editor of Milton Friedberg's Encyclopedia of U.S. Postage and Fractional Currency. He has also published numerous numismatic articles on paper money that have appeared in publications like Paper Money Magazine,
Coin World, The Bank Note Reporter, The Numismatist, Friends of Financial History and The Essay Proof Journal.
