oops, forgot to add this as the question was about varieties:
1982 planchet varieties
The 1982 nickel dollar exists on a rolled thin planchet. The normal planchet has a weight of 15.62 grams, a diameter of 32.13 mm, and a thickness of 2.50 mm. The thin planchet consists of incomplete reeding. Its weight is 7.78 grams, a diameter of 31.82 mm, and a thickness of 1.50 mm.[10] It is believed that only two exist.

I don't know where you are cutting and pasting your information from, but the thin planchet is reeded (struck in collar) and definitely more than two thin planchets exist... I should know, I have one... http://www.pcgs.com/SetRegistry/coi...433578&sid=0To the original poster, you might want to pick up a 67th edition of the Charlton Standard Catalogue (maroon coloured cover), it has the nickel dollar variety section in the back.

Most people don't know, however, that the thin planchet nickel dollars also can occur in the 1981 and 1982 voyageur nickel dollars. Now those are rare. It remains a mystery, because they can also be found as early as 1980 voyageur dollars. Here is my 1980 thin planchet, struck on a 7.7 gram pure nickel planchet, with reeding (in collar), to the best of my knowledge, 2 to 3 are known: http://www.pcgs.com/SetRegistry/coi...920713&sid=0
