barryg Pillar of the Community United States 5849 Posts	Posted 04/08/2015 4:30 pm It's just a shorthand way of saying each 1 ounce coin contains 0.999 ounces of silver and the remainder ("balance") is copper. So that would be 0.001 ounce of copper, I guess.
