so I have seen people talking about WAMS for 1996 . Is the proof suppose to be a CAM or a WAM?

The proof should be a WAM but the 96 WAM might be a myth.

The example that someone found was lost. It may have been one altered like a Magicians coin. Different reverse put on it. But that one example was the only one mentioned and it was lost. So I'm saying it is a myth. If there is just one, it was probably altered.

Wasn't it found by a known dealer that lost his credibility because of this mystery coin?

Yeah, the fact that it was unique would be pretty odd. But you also don't just lose a coin like that if you knew it was real.

Well, he's since "retired" from numismatics.

Yes, but even though this didn't make him look too good there remains nothing but circumstantial evidence against him. If he's telling the truth about the incident, it was nasty enough to drive a reasonable man out of numismatics and I wouldn't blame him. I'm not bringing that up here; Google will show the curious reader all they want to know.

I didn't google it, all I know is what I saw here. I do know that sometimes there are only inches between the keep pile and the spend pile. I also know there are quite a few "reasonable" people in numismatics.
True Coop, none others have surfaced, but I say there is a reasonable doubt.
