I saw this with a peculiar listing title on ebay:

UK 1937 Georgius VI Crown Space Filler

http://www.ebay.com/itm/UK-1937-Geo...p=true&rt=nc

I took a look at the seller's other items which included some obviously bogus replicas. I placed a minimum bid on the 25th, curious to see what one of these looked like.

(I see that the seller added an addendum that the item was bogus 2 days later.)

The "coin" has arrived and at first glance with unaided eye it looks kinda Okay. Under glass the deception becomes obvious.

Look at his sold coins and see what some buyers paid for some of this crap.

BTW I contacted ebay with a complaint noting that it is a counterfeit item. They replied to send it back for a refund. Right. Fat chance of it being acknowledged as being received plus likely out the return postage.

At least I had the satisfaction of leaving the seller a neg. It will be interesting to see what FB comments the other buyers leave.

I'll keep it as a reference piece.

...

Aach. I keep forgetting about all the posting categories. Please put this where it might properly belong.

I have no idea where this would go, but it's quite an interesting coin.

No way this is real. The King's face isn't scratched up, and you should know better than I how rare clean-cheek 1937's are.
