Hello all,
I am creating a sort of type set for FRN from 1928 to now in currency. I have 1928 issues (the ones redeemable in gold), then 1934+ issues (redeemable in lawful money). I know between '34 and the early 2000's redesign the notes stopped saying "will pay to the bearer on demand" and just stated the dollar amount. I consider this a type change but I need to know what years they changed over to the new type so I can label and then find those issues for my collection.

So far I haven't been able to find when they changed the design online. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

I looked at the $20 denomination and the Series of 1950E had the "will pay to bearer on demand" clause above the denomination. However, starting with the Series 1963 just state the dollar amount.

Looks like all variations ("will pay to bearer", "payable to bearer", etc.) disappeared with the 1963 series.

I definitely consider this to be a separate type. Check out my currency pages to see the main 20th century types for each denomination from $1-100.
