Thanks aardspeed! That might be a little expensive for me but I might bid.

Coin boxes around me have large boxes you can sort through yourself. You just buy the coins you want for .05 apiece if you get atleast 20. It's a lot of common dates a takes awhile but you pay cheap for only ones you want.

By a box from your bank. I'm not much for roll hunting wheats, but I have found over 150 rolls worth in seven years, including a one-time shot of 56 solid wheat rolls a customer turned in.

Thanks for all of your help! At my LCS, I can buy rolls of pre-1934 wheat cents and rolls of post-1934 wheat cents. I started buying a couple post-1934 rolls and have already partially filled the album.

I have met up with a guy I found on craigslist in my area while searching for coins. He says he "bought 6 large mason jars of wheaties from someone selling their bulk load". He says he hasn't searched them yet because he found a new hobby collecting old license plates. He brought them to show me and said he is selling them for 3.25 cents per wheatie. One mason jar would run $32.50 I think he said. Do I believe him and try one? He brought the remainder of his collection of coins and did have a book of wheaties partially filled so I don't know whether or not to trust that he hasn't searched them. He also had 55 indian heads he wanted to get rid of for $55. Are these good deals?
First post by the way but have been reading a lot of other forums while getting into the hobby. Thanks all.

To me, just buying rolls at random to "partially fill an album" is not a good strategy to collect LWC unless you have tons of time and don't care if you end up with anything much worthwhile, which of course could be. I would start with the bins at your local shop, so you at least see what you're getting, and I'm betting that you'll be buying nice examples of better dates in no time!

If you can find any coin shows in your area, those are the best place for anything.
