well after two years of doing this I finally got my first 1970 half last night. It was the only silver in the box but I will take it. The funny thing is I knew it when I was edge checking. It was a silver ring but in perfect shape and just looked slightly different then other 40%edges

I have a bank branch like that! I usually ask for 2 boxes at a time, I asked for 4 boxes one time and she did not bat an eye! I don't want to burn them out, so I only ask for 2 boxes at a time. I have another branch that orders me one box per week, and another that will have one box on the first week of the month. So I have my plate full with great branches. I usually will bring them cookies every other month to thank them! :)

@Littlebirdy8

I need to start doing that. This will be 4k from this one branch. I have another that orders me 2k a week and I don't ever have to remind them, and another that does 1k every week. I usually, if there's no mix up, do 10 boxes a week. This week I'll be doing 14. Biggest amount to date. Hopefully coins to show from it too...

2 boxes today.

Some NIFC.

The coin counter broke while dumping tonight. It is one of those with the conveyor belt and the only one on my route with a reject tray. I checked the reject tray before I started and found a few Nerds candies and the usual pocket lint. I started dumping my halves and the machine hit $4 and kept sucking the coins up but the counter wasn't registering any more money. Great. Luckily I think most of them got kicked into the reject tray before the machine shut down. While fishing the halves out of the reject slot this fake diamond fake gold earing popped out. The teller had to open the machine up and fish out a bobby pin, some paper scraps, and more junk. The machined for another $400 and then jammed up with more junk again. This was not as bad as the time I was in Walmart in Holly Springs MS and someone jacked the Coinstar machine up buy dumping their change they had stored in a Planters salted peanuts plastic jar that they didn't bother to clean the peanut dust out before turning it into a bank. There was a pile of peanut dust and about $5 in change just sitting on top of the tray along with the empty jar. I guess whomever was dumping packed up and left after the machine broke. I cherry picked all of the silver colored coins and left the pennies for the next person to walk by.

Yeah,
After you asked I found
a bicentennial silver proof.

So now you need to ask if anyone has found
a gold coin in a roll

I know of 1 person who found a Krugerrand
in the reject tray.

3 boxes give me a few NIFCs and TONS of bicentennials, and that is it.

Go to the bank today for a box of pennies, and the bank didn't order because they were planning to be snowed out, and won't be ordering next week either because of President's Day, but she has 3 rolls.

2005 P
2x 1969 D (40%)
1697 (40%)

All of then in just one of the rolls

The other 2 rolls, had one each:
1978
1985 D

Those both finished a roll of their year and mintmark for me.

Why do I have no luck with boxes, only bank wrapped rolls?

Rolls are the best thing to get imo. Because rolls are the purest way to get coins. Boxes are the accumulation of rolls that banks have and that are sent to get wrapped. By the time they get sent out, most tellers have the chance to once over the rolls. If you can score rolls, you have a good chance at getting coins that haven't been seen by many eyes...
