I finally got my box (requested it almost a month ago) Hoping it's filled with 2026's and a few W's. If it is and I find some....contest time. So wish me luck and you might win.  |

Last week I found a 1976 S silver clad 40% halve. I opened 2 more boxes yesterday. I found 11 NIFC's and a Frank 1960 Proof and then a 1956 Proof. Both were in great condition.  I wanted to get more ordered today, but I forgot its a Bank holiday.  |

I was disappointed after searching eight boxes of bank-rolled half dollars that I acquired during the past two weeks: i.e., they contained no silver coins. That's not surprising because one box contained only 2026 half dollars, and three of the other boxes contained ~100 rolls that a different CRH had examined and carefully rewrapped (ugh). Today I acquired three CWRs of half dollars at a BoA branch located in the next town. The teller told me they were cashed last week. I didn't expect to find much silver in them because the rolls were in new wrappers. As I anticipated, the first two rolls didn't contain any valuable coins -- but I noticed that all of them were minted before 1985. The third roll was a winner. It contained ten 40% silver Kennedy half dollars (with five of them lining up next to each other at one end of the roll)! This is the first time in almost three years that visiting this branch has paid off. You gotta be patient and keep on trying...  |

@ NorthShoreMA: Have you seen any 9-11 privy marked halves? Apparently the Boston area is receiving large numbers of them, mixed in to new 2026 boxes.
It might be worth trying to get a box of new halves from somewhere, or just keeping an eye out for them.
