@Jack!
When I first started out 2 years ago, I was told the same thing.
It is not true!

I guess I need to start bringing doughnuts too I don't want to run into that issue. I use Chase and was getting a box every two weeks, but with the holidays coming I want to get one every week. I don't need upset tellers and branch managers.

Referring to the stated case that come delivery companies cull silver:

Could that be a local phenomena, i.e. dependent upon the particular service center's manager pocketing it him/her self?"

I went to the bank this morning and straightened it out with the branch manager. She said that the driver told her that Loomis has an old lady who goes through the coins when she has time. While there may be a slim slim slim chance that was true which could account for my 28 and 24 and 20 box skunk streaks I still believe "insert carrier here" culls silver is an urban legend and is an excuse created by people to rationalize skunk streaks.

Here's my score from the 4 boxes they are culling.

3 enders. A proof, a silver, and a 2012.

7 40%ers, a 1964, 3 proofs, and some NIFC.

I went through my 4 boxes yesterday. Boxes 1, 3, &4 were all skunks for silver, but did provide a few NIFC. Box 2, however, had 1 x 90% (a nice 1945 Walking Liberty), and 43 x 40%. They are the ugliest silver halves I've ever found. It looks like they were sitting at the bottom of someone's coin jar for a long time so they are all really dirty and grimy, but I'll still take em. Hopefully I can scrounge up another box or two today and tomorrow.

thats allota proofs. 2 boxes today again turned out no silver or proofs, but a few nifcs. I'm gonna have to hit up some teller trays to get a fix if this keeps up lol. Of course my skunk streak is only at 7 so I cant really complain that much.

Went to one of my banks today to sort out online log in problems...while there asked a teller if she had any halves...she had 9 rolls but didn't know if they came in all at once or piecemeal...got one roll with no luck while waiting to talk to bank officer...she asked what I was looking for and I said, any 1987, any 2001 and over, any 1969 and under.

After sorting out the log in problems and I was about to leave a teller came up and said, "I found these for you"

1-1964
1-1966
2-1967
1-1968
1-1969
4-2001
1-2005

I told them next time I come in it will be bringing donuts!

Wow that is a crazy amount of proofs I'm wondering why someone had that many 2005 proofs?

@trapper

My biggest proof score was something like 25 in one box.

However most of them were really rough so I think a roll hunter dumped them.

My second best like your were all the same year.

18 nice 2009's spread over 3 boxes in one sitting.

Seeing that wide shiny reeded edge was almost as good as seeing silver.
