Good news (for me)! I stopped at another of my banks to deposit a few bags today and I was given the opportunity to look through ~$80 in halves in the coin counting machine...Scored a somewhat circulated 1968-S, which is my first silver proof (woohoo!), and a BU silver (or chrome) plated 1971-D. The bad news was the bank will be merging with a larger bank in town soon, so my ability to order or deposit bags will be history. Oh well, it was fun while it lasted. As you can see if you read my last few posts I wasn't finding much in boxes around here anyway.

@ berto, you said you weren't finding much in boxes in your area. Where are you located? I'm in south central KY.
@ uncle bob, you found more silver in 2 rolls than I've found in my last 11 boxes (550 rolls). Maybe it'll start rolling in again for me soon, everyone else is proving it's still out there.

Was really happy to learn today my bank ordered another 4 boxes for me, so it looks like I will get 8 boxes a week from this one bank. Now instead of 12 boxes a week I will be doing 16 boxes a week from all three banks. These last 4 I just searched yielded me 1-64D, 1-67 and 1-69. 25-NIFC mostly 2013 and 2014. Hope you all have a wonderful weekend, and great luck next week. We should start a National Silver Prospecting Association Club. LOL!! "LOVE THE HUNT!"

I folded and decided to go by the local branch to see about halves. They said they had actually ordered two boxes for another customer, but that customer had not picked them up and it had been almost two weeks. I bought them. Skunked again. My silver skunk box streak is now at 59 boxes. I told my fiancee I will go ahead and get one more to make it an even 60, then I am done if there's no silver in it. I should have accidentally found silver by this point. Still, other people posting on here with their daily silver finds keeps me with just a hint of hope that I will finally score something, even if just one silver 40% half or something. Say a prayer to the silver coin gods for me everyone.

@ RCook, if you enable the email feature on this website I'd be happy to tell you where I'm located. I don't like putting any of my personal information on a public website. Happy hunting!

Boxes 20 and 21 = 5 NIFC...5 boxes left to sort through and then I think I'll be done for awhile. I'll try and summarize my finds for all of you after I complete my 26 box journey :)

Started in on a box of halves and I discover that all the rolls are split and have a piece of tape across the split--pic below. The splits are only in the side--the ends remain intact. The rolls are shotgun, so I presume bank rolled (?). The box was already open when the teller brought it out of the vault. Any idea why all these rolls are split? Does the bank make a slice in the roll when they verify a count? Is there a reason to split/slice/tape all these rolls? Did some bank employee split/slice these looking for silver? Did somebody else buy the box, split/slice the rolls looking for silver, then return the box? Do you split/slice rolls looking for silver? I have a few dates to complete in my album so I am opening the rolls, but I'm not finding any silver. What are your thoughts?

I bet that's exactly what happened. Dunno if a bank employee did it, but I would bet someone did it and they were looking for silver edges.

I once received a similar box. The person who sliced the rolls was clearly looking for silver. In my case they even drew smiley faces on some rolls using the slit as a mouth. I wasn't smiling!
I've opened box 22 of 26 in my 26 box journey and immediately found pocket lint and a small piece of granola bar wrapper. This indicated to me the box contained at least a portion of a bag off a coin machine that wasn't completely another CRHer's dump. Sure enough, 10th roll in I found a 1967, yay! I'll report any other notable finds.
Update: I finished the box. One roll had a quarter in it along with 20 halves, so I am $0.25 richer ;). Otherwise zero other finds...not even an NIFC.
