I did not know that. I've asked a few different times on what to look for with half dollars and no one ever mentioned that lol
Why don't his 1987's have an S mint then?

S mint's are only proofs (at least for newer half dollars). 1987 is just a low mintage year, just like 2009 is for other coins. I hope that I could help you figure this out.

Quote: 1987 is just a low mintage year, just like 2009 is for other coins. Not really the same. 1987-P and 1987-D coins were only issued in mint sets and souvenir sets (sold at mint gift shops). Unlike the 2002 and later NIFC half dollars, they were not offered in rolls or bags.

Ok, 2 boxes as usual, every two weeks. Box 1 had 1-64, 2-63, 2-67,1-66, 1-69. And some S Proofs, plus a colorized Pope John Paul. Box 2 had 1-67, and a 2001S Silver, my first 90% silver proof found roll hunting. Also several more S proofs, not all of them in nice condition. Happy new year to all, Webekin
