Last box had 1 1969, but it looked to me that it was almost an MS grade!

I started poking at this a couple rolls at a time for the last year. So far for 36 rolls I have:
a complete 1971-2001 clad circ strike set with some pieces that have exceptional strikes and\or luster
a heavily toned lightly rubbed 1965
a 1967
a lightly toned 69-S in about PF-50
a 76-S in PF-50
a 71-D in AU-50 with such a weak strike that it looks like Kennedy's nose and lips are detached
a 96-P AU that looks like it has a grease strike or something funny going on
a 98-P struck about 5-10% off center
a 1944-D Walker in F-12
a 1996 Canadian $2
The proofs were quite surprising but the Walker felt like a home run.
This is great fun.

I love the bicenntenials. Just hate dumping a nice looking one back to the pile. I think they made billions though.

TreasHunt, Just so we're clear that was a 1998 not an 1898 unfortunately. Still kinda nifty. Enough to cause the "edge" to be all on one side. The proofs were stoppers. Though slightly worn, something clearly said "I am not typical".

Not a bad day for me, picked up $160.00 in halves at my bank that included 7 40%, 2 90% and a 2004P that is gorgeous.

I stopped off at a small town bank. All they had was 52 halves from their coin counter. No silver but a 1974S proof. I'd guess in about Pr-45 condition.

Other bonus, the town had a gas price war. Picked up a tank of gas for $1.759/gal

Hey all,

I went through a batch of halves over the last couple of evenings and had some interesting finds:

21 40% JFKs
9 90% JFKs
1 Bennie
1 Walker (1945 P) and VERY beat up, you cuold barely make out the date. Also:

1997 Proof and the kicker......

3 - 1987 JFKS - In one box I found 2 (1987 P and 1987 D) they were both BU and it looked like someone removed them from the mint set and deposited them at the bank and they wound up in my box of halves. This makes 5 1987s that I have found, and based on this ratio to silver (even to Walkers specifically) they are much rarer than anything else out there.

Happy hunting!
