Nice finds guys !
I did 2 boxes today = 54d frankie , 64d ms my first ever 64d (is there anymore bananas ) and 1 40% plus 72s,76s,2000s proofs
I told my teller at one bank to cancel my weekly 4 boxes because I'm spending too much money in gas and the dump is just too much and I also think my teller is messing with the boxes there anyway as I been in dry spell after dry spells from her and yesterday she gave me a open boxes as I know she search for silver and never share with me everytime I see many silver dimes and quarter on her tray and ask her she say nooooo!... ! I have 2 more boxes in another bank and I'm thinking in keep a order of only 2 boxes a week from my second bank as I know none of tellers ther cherrypick coins . Couple more weeks and if the skunks keep coming I ll stop for good ! I know we ll not find silver in every box but search 10 - 12 boxes to find 1 or 2x40% its not ok with the gas prices and hustle of dump besides my ears are hurting from wifes complain lol!
Good luck all !

Just out of curioustiy for those who do 500 dollar boxes at a time, how do you cash them back in? do you reroll them or just take a box of 1000 half dollars to the bank and say here you go.

I have canvas bank bags that I put all 1000 coins into, and I either run it through the self-serve coin machine, or the tellers dump it into the coin counter they have in back. I make an attempt to go to a different bank each time I dump so I don't overload one location with half dollars each week.

Sounds easy enough, although the more I read this post the more I realize I hade beginners luck. to go through 1000 halfs and not even find one 40% thats insane, although it only takes one healthy box to make it all worth the while I guess

Went through boxes #5 & #6 today. Here's what we found.

Box #5

(1) 1965
(1) 1966
(1) 1967

Box #6

(1) 1960 Franklin
(4) 1964
(2) 1966
(5) 1967
(1) 1968
(2) 1969

Would you still call this beginners luck? So far we went through 2-$500 Bags from the coin machine & 6-$500 Boxes. Total finds so far are:

(2) 90% Franklins
(11) 90% Kennedys
(37) 40% Kennedys
(2) Proofs
& a handful of NIFC (We don't keep these because they are usually nicked up.)

My father buys the boxes, and dumps them. He's a traveling salesman so it's easy for him. But my father, myself, my wife & my sister do the sorting. It's a fun little family activity for us. =)

@LTMets44

Here on the west coast there is nothing left. I've been through 42 boxes from 4 different banks and have a total of around 45 silvers.

Bishftl, that's more than I've found in the Midwest, so you can count that as a win compared to me :)

I have been getting one box of halves per month for the last few months and have always gotten marked rolls that only gave me a couple of 40%ers. I just got my box for this month and for the first time the rolls are not marked ... so far I've pulled 20 40%ers and I am only half way through! So, how do you guys sell the silver you find? A jeweler near me said that he won't buy 40%ers ... ?
Happy Hunting!

The east coast is so good so far. There is a lot of poverty in my town and the surrounding towns and NO ONE that I talk to around here knows ANYTHING about silver. I don't know if the helps with the search or not. But so far I can complain. I'm sure I will hit a point soon when the well is dry, but until then, I will keep searching. =)
