Very bad this week on silver finds, here are some pics of the interesting stuff.        13 box totals several nifc, including my first 2012's 3 proofs 3 1987.....makes about 10 iv found this month (1) 90% (4) 40% Looks like others did much better then me, good luck to all, got 14 boxes coming next week, may try and snag another bonus box before then....btw if anyone remembered me posting that killer bonus box last saturday, my wife ended up snagging that other monday morning at 10 am, skunk...lol...Im still convinced another good one maybe there. |

Box 535-538 No more boxes of painted coins but still almost nothing to find. From 1 box, the other 3 maybe 10 NIFC. 1968d
2001s silver proof
1986s commemorative proof    I did however buy 45 ounces of silver from my bank manager @ 68% of melt value. Out of that I got... 1942s

Wow! Do you guys live in small towns to get such silver finds? Or does anyone live in a big city? I'd think silver would go faster in a big city; I almost never get silver.

coinmaniac I went through over twenty boxes without finding a single one (I gave up twice and said I would never buy a box again). But the last couple of weeks things turned around a little I am all of the sudden getting some good stuff. I do not know if they are running out because I usually get the flat boxes with strings and sons yellow wraps now every box is different some are brinks some are dunns and some of the boxes look like they have been around for a while one of the brinks boxes even had an older style of wrap. unfortunatly I am headed for canada for two weeks hopefully it does not dry up when I am gone.

Anyone remember my 1973d medallic alignment I found in a box? NGC graded @ a generous AU58. Just sold it. I still have another one I found, a 2000p in a bit worse condition. Guess I'm gonna have to send it out as well.  Edited by bishftl

Hey bish, you got photos of that 2000P? I'd love to see what it winds up grading as and my father or I may be interested in it. Would live to discuss it with you if you have the time.

bish, is getting a coin graded worth it? I just checked out NGC's site, and it seemed pretty expensive to me.

depends, I sent in a 1964 kennedy DDO proof. sold for a good amount of $$. no way it would sell for the same raw. hard to say what's worth grading, some of the coins I sent in came back at lower than expected and I could only break even on costs. I'm only sending in errors or varieties from now on, it's too difficult to determine what will grade high enough to get a good return. The rotated from above cost me .50 + fees and was well worth it. you have to do a lot of research, comparing grades/values and population of those grades. all I do is research, and check what coins will sell on both ebay and heritage auctions. Heritage also has XXXL close-ups of sold coins so I can compare the quality against what I have. Edited by bishftl
