well after a fruitless search for the last week, seems none of my local banks carry half dollars anymore.
and my bank wont even order them for me shame on them.

so what banks will order them?

hubby just started collecting, I've been collecting roman coins for years.
what sucks is I was trying to get a box for him for today its our anniversary :(

I have been able to get boxes of halves from many banks. A few times I even get them from banks I don't have an account with. I always make sure I tell them I "will not" be bringing the halves back to them. This helps most of the time for me. If you are from a smaller town, you may have to travel outside your area to find a bank that will order. I normally try to find larger banks that do a lot of merchant services. If a bank has a separate window for merchants, they have a better chance of ordering halves for you.

If you find a bank that orders for you, take them a bag of M&M's the next time you go in. I always give them plain instead of peanut because of the possibility of allergies.
