Does anyone collect these RedBook colonials, flung to the far French Colonies of North America, circa 1640 by under coin type? Here is a decent one dated 1594. I think you can still assemble a significant collection with a half dozen different under coin types if you specialize a bit. Does anyone already have such a set and what are the known under coin types that have the counterstamp? These predate Massachusetts silver and are right for Canada and French settlements along the Mississippi starting at Louisiana. Has anyone found one in the ground? From what context?
