Hi all. So I have what I am told is a 1878 50 dinars from Iran that has been overstruck by a mint in Qandahar(Afgahanistan) to make a 1904 paisa.

My question is how common the over strike is for these coins and what the value may be.
Thanks in advance for your thoughts.

That's a really neat coin.

I've been looking to collect various world overstruck coin but this is the first time I've seen something like this. I would be keen on it too but I'm afraid I cannot put a price on it.

Thanks! Yeah I love it. I have seen overstruck coins and been wanting one. Funny thing is this was given to me cause the guy couldn't figure it out. All he knew was it was Persian. I thought it was either overstruck or a vise job. And was thrilled to find it was the former.
Price wise either way I'm up since it was free. I won't sell it but like to have an idea ov value.

It's a tough call. If I'm forced to put a value down, I expect it to go at least 50 - 100 dollars. If someone wants to pay more, the better!
