I bought this coin in the unsure mode, but in assuming or hoping maybe brass?, Appoligies the pictures as they were the one I bought and my phone is out, but I'mcurious to find out, thought to post and ask, Thanks for your time. Cheers

Oh, and I bought it cause it had a fat date compare to my other 1859. lol.

What makes you think that it's brass?
No way of telling from looking at it.
The only sure way I know is with a XRF analysis.

if you want to know take a piece of glass and make a tiny scratch on the rim edge. Glass will not interact with the metal and you should see the true color. Brass will show a nice yellow or sometimes what looks pinkish.
