Has anyone ever sealed the caps to their tubes with hot wax
so your coins will get max. protection by keeping out air and contaminants. Or am I the only one ? anybody else with unique ways of storing their bu rolls ?

It certainly wouldn't do any harm.

Air is locked in the tube with the coins anyway. Only a negligible amount of air will get past a normal ungasketed screw seal or clip seal in this application, in the long term.

Hope the wax does not get into the threads of the seal, thus preventing the removal of the screw cap.

A wrap of plumber's tape around the threads of the tube will do just as nicely.

Never thought of hot wax, but I think that thread seal tape is a better option.

, the coins are not subjected to any heat from the wax.
Storage of the tubes is less messy, as well.

I tape them shut with 3M clear tape. Been doing that for a long, long time and no ill effects.

The hot wax is only worth the time if you have your own signet ring like the pope to mark your own seal on top of the wax to make sure no one opens them while you are gone, hehe.

Okay, so that is one advantage of wax over the tape ideas.

Yes, the wax seal is vastly more romantic than the tape options... and inversely practical.
