Here is a pic of a 1957 "rippled" coin & some others right from coins and Canada website calling it and error. There is no explanation for this, but does not mention acid or what caused it either.
believe your coin is a rippled/orange peel efect;;
it is caused by excessive grease on the die leaving this first coins struck with rippled effect and it decreases after each strike.grease could be all to one side of die an in some cases it can cover over 70% of the coin,,,,as far as showing ripples enough for the naked eye to see enough grease must be left to create the ripple effect,,,,,,,,,,,,,
