Bought this a while back. Unfortunately the spots are permanent. Used a few Verdicare treatments, but finally stopped short of using a dremel Any help with the attribution, if possible is much appreciated. Having a hard time even telling if it's a Large/Small date or fraction let alone S-?. Thanks, ed

I'd actually call it a FR2 but net it down to poor because of the corrosion.

Ed, interesting coin but could you crop your future pictures. This advice helps CCF. Thanks.

We really appreciate you helping to police this, bpoc1, but these images are under 100kb and quite suitable in that the coin is a significant percentage of the image.

And Ed, you should be commended for your willingness to outreach and help the Poor.

Thanks. Yeah, I cropped it that size on purpose. Bigger was not necessarily better in this case. Am pretty sure it's a small date, but not sure if it's a large or small fraction. Maybe if I stare at it long enough...

...ok done staring, looks like small date, small fraction imo.

OK Ed. I'm still working on it... I too believe it's a small date small fraction but that's as far as I've gotten.

Just spent about 1 1/2 hrs comparing to every die, and it looks to be a S-255, B-14. I was lucky the point of curl is very visible in hand, but not on pic I posted. Heritage has every example, and the NGC Variety Plus had everyone too. PCGS has the whole Breen's Encyclopedia of Early United States Cents.

Not being an old copper guy ... what's a rough value of the coin in this shape?

I think you can find these for around $10-$15 on ebay.
