I was browsing at an antique mall today and saw a interesting set of three silver dollar sized medals from the 1987 Pan-American games that took place in Indianapolis for sale in a violet clam shell box. The looked to be one gold, one silver and one bronze ones in air times. I assumed that they were all plated copper rounds.
I wasn't able to take a picture since I forgot and neither was we able to find a price so they had to hold it and ask the owner what he wants for it.
I wasn't super interested but it made me curious since I was born in the city while the games took place. I tried searching for it online but I'm having issues finding any item like it, to figure what a good offer would be. I know its hard without a photo but do you guys ever heard of a sounvinir set being sold like this from the games?
I figured that they had to be plated but silver and gold was cheaper then I believe and this looks high end. I also gotten super good deals from him before that I was able to sell at three times the price back to a dealer. There was no markings anywhere to indicate fineness and since they were inair tights no toning.
