Encased Cents: Some General Advice Requested

oriole Pillar of the Community Canada 5239 Posts	Posted 03/02/2016 09:40 am Can anyone give me a good source for information about Encased Cents (or Encased Coins of any denomination)? Possibly this topic has already been raised. You have probably seen these. Typically a 1 cent coin encased in a ring of aluminum with advertising/ names on one side and some slogan (like "good luck") on the other side. I have a few of these but am trying to get a few more. Before I dip my toes too deeply, I would like to have a sense of the parameters of quality, cost, availability, etc. I assume that someone has made a catalogue at some point. moxking Rest in Peace United States 17900 Posts	Posted 03/02/2016 10:26 am There are many hundreds of thousands produced during the last hundred years. There are lots of different shapes, too. Not all are just round. I would strongly suggest that you narrow down your hunt. Such as only one state, or a type of merchant, or a date range for Encased Coin, or something like that.
