I see Lincoln sitting. It's on every penny from 1959-2008.

That is the massive statue of Lincoln that sits in his memorial in real life. Unless I'm missing something?

No, we can't, because it has nothing whatsoever to do with numismatics. It's not about flights of fancy. People here are dedicating their entire lives to this hobby and you're making fun of it.

its cool and I am not making fun of your guys lives, and by saying so that's really a false accusation cause you don't know me I am sorry for making you think that but I expected that as I was mentioning that to my brother before I seen the 5th post cause I know you or some of you guys are making a living off that but there are a lot of questions I have for those that have some kind of teaching methods or such things cause of the postings he or she posted and I should have done my research before getting involved in such a fun and very interesting hobby on every forum or any other site I could have joined this site is well done and looks very professional also very easy to understand but it is my fault for these things that are accruing or unfolding at this time I am very sorry for that and don't mean to make fun of nothing or no one in this subject or at any time in my life. and also before you comment on any post please put your self in there shoes if possible so any comments that you post wont hurt anyone else just like my son I am glad that he is enjoying on whatever he is doing now and did not affect him in any way of the post of someone that made him lose interest thank goodness for that cause I have things about some of the knowledge some are posting and it will get you to see and make you rethink some of what you know so make sure you are right before trying to teach others please I was and I still am interested on this coin error collecting or as you call it numismatics and with this new lens I can see inside your teachings there are some that may not be what you are explaining well at least to me let me show you some examples but first need to read what you are thinking or want to say about this post cause I do not want to offend or make fun of anyone at anytime THANK YOU AND ITS BEEN FUN FOR ME! and very sorry for anyone that is hurt by what I have posted

No hard feeling Teach. But listen to our words very carefully. Because I did and I know a lot now. If you listen to what we have to say, you can help the future teaches. The most important thing, is to point out what you are seeing.

Question: Are you using a zoom on your images? The distortion is not helping. Best not to use the zoom feature on your camera as it distorts more than helps. If the area you are looking at is raised, you might check to see if it is a plating bubble if this is a Zincoln? If it is a copper coin, then it maybe just a small die gouge. With too much magnification even a piece of sand can look huge. The best guide for how much magnification is 10X. The reason? Most collectors of varieties may not be interested in a coin that can't show on magnification above that range. I can see minor hub doubling with a microscope that even the camera can't get an image of. So the strong the variety is, the more desirable it will be. If something doesn't follow a part of the design, it is not hub doubling. Die damage can make this happen, but then again it would be too minor to be a collectable. A die variety should stand out, in fact leap out at you when you find one. If you have to search this hard, you are spinning your wheels. But being that you can spot something that small tells me your eye is there, but it is not the right coin. A high percentage of coins are not a variety, they are just a normal coin. I bought a bottle containing coins that someone collected over the years. There were 9,000 coins in that bottle. The person who saved the coin, or his son who is not a variety searcher was curious what I found. There were many BU coins from different years because this probably took 10-20 years to build up. I saved the best ones. But inside that bottle I found a 2004 DDR. (just one) and it was about a $65 coin. So I found one good variety in the lot that brought me a premium. So searching coins is profitable, but takes time and if the variety is not there, is where the search should end. You might find it beneficial to study coppercoins.com to see what a variety could look like. On a doubled die there are several ways if could show itself on a coin. Knowing what to look for would be beneficial as it helps you to know what you are looking for. So now that you have the eye, you need to know now what to look for. I think that will help you a lot. Coppercoins is so far not a subscription, so look at it year after year, mint mark by mint mark. You don't have to remember each item, but remember how the doubled dies look. Then when you've got that down, then you will be ready for variety searching. Hope this helps.

Lol jay and teachmind that's why earlier on I said like others have said in this post is that if you are this serious and dedicated then you should be reading and learning along with using this forum. It saves everyone including yourself tons of time and will increase your proficiency in processing coins and save you a lot of time

I am going to stay away from this coin. Teachmind111, Coop gave you some excellent advice. Take it and you'll enjoy this hobby even more. I look forward to progressing right along with you.
