hhmm tooled you say, any way I can id that?
honestly with the aussie dollar recovering I think this will just be a pcgs job. I am sure in hand a lot of experts here could figure this out in a heart beat but you have to take into account that your looking at my pictures (on a $100 5 year old camera, ) and there is no substitute for an in hand assessment
I will get it pcgs secure so that pcgs take a pic (if real ;) )

I still like 40-45 but think it will come back , details from an old cleaning. Still a keeper in my book. I love the history/story of the type 1.

Like jeffrose's comment, "nice circulation cameo". If it was cleaned and done carefully by an expert, it could still holder. I'm guessing it will make EF-40, held back by the reverse wear.

Just did a quick search on Heritage, and the 1917 D T1 EF details recently sold for around $100. Yours might bring a little more because the cleaning isn't too obvious.
