The detail looks wrong. I'm not sure on this one.

have a look at the link. the 17d seems to have big toes. like I said everything lines up with the pcgs graded example, it is right on the nose dimension wise and has the feel and look of a genuine stuck silver coin. because of the doubt raised here I spent the last 24 hrs getting full bottle on this issue and I am now sure it is real. I will come back when I get the grading from pcgs with a result (will take several months. feel free to put your grading opinions of it to test your skill

You can make a silver blank for coins easily and they can be right on the dot. I think this is a good fake. Did you allready send it to PCGS? My guess is will not come back genuine.

Very, very curious to see what PCGS says on this one. My money is on counterfeit as well. The patina on this piece is textbook Chinese faux-antique. Plus, the loss of detail looks too clean - it doesn't have the appearance of wear, the detail on the high points just isn't there - except for the shield, which has way too much detail compared to the rest of the coin.

no, I only acquired it a couple of days ago. when pcgs result come back I will post if it is a fake it is a darn good one! I have lined up many aspects of the die with a known graded coin and it matches (btw there are a few die differences between the d/s and no mint mark! you yanks must love your varieties!) I have handled it, weighed it and measured it and it feels like good silver Most importantly of all I am willing to put my money where my mouth is hence I will commit $50 to get it graded. will revive this thread in a few months

I will not offer a grade due to questionable authenticity. I am looking forward to seeing what PCGS says.

The eagle and the letters look different than any real one I've seen. If it's real its an amazing piece.
