Being in Australia I don't usually get many of these so I don't know where this one would stand grade wise. Looking for some help from across the ocean on how this would grade, if it is worth grading (thinking pcgs), and approx. value. Thanks in advance

I'm sorry..... but I am no expert to offer a grade. Man that coin would look nice in my 7070...congrats on finding such a nice example~!!

I thought that at 1st but it comes from a reputable coin dealer and it is right on the nose size/weight I am thinking of getting it graded

Ok. Here is why I think it is a fake. Just look at the toes, way too big, THe stuff around the rim, looks a bit off. THe face is wrong and last but not least the eagle is too close to the quarter dollar. It also looks like the detail is too strong for a coin in that condition.

funny I see your points but it feels good in hand, has a great rim, is right on the nose dimension wise I am going to send it to pcgs just to see what they say

I don't know much about these, but it's funny, one of the first things I noticed was the toes, and how perfect they look. If it's real I love it. Just a great looking coin, and I think it's struck really well.

I'm not going to stick my neck out for this one. Ok if it's real I believe it was cleaned long ago. notice reverse eagle and fields silver color and outer edges of coin with all the letters are dark grey. this usually says CLEANED. if it's genuine, I would give it EF-45+ or better. but I'm as confused as some other members. Rivets , date, MM ,etc. Too Nice.

Not trying to thread-jack, but here is my 1917-P Type I PCGS MS63FH for comparison; At first glance I thought that something was off too...it may be the color. A larger image may help in the assessment.

This is a tough one. The toes on both feet and the hand holding the branch dosent look right.

Also not trying to jack the thread. As to the color, this is the way I found this one CRH in the late 50s. IMO, it's just a nice circulation cameo. edit to add - very nice quarter serial, and oih8, yours ain't too shabby either

I like it. XF45. Retail about $150 - 170 usd. If it was mine I'd slap that in my type set. If u plan on selling it at some point it might be worth slabbing

I don't actually run a us type set, a bit to hard to complete Down under but I will try to get it graded, just need the aussie dollar to gain some grounds against the us dollar 1st as for us it is an extra 20% on fees plus the high postage

I would wait for confirmation by other users. Its authenticity is very questionable.
