All the bandwidth of the forum owner and these are the closest images you can give us for grading?

Having said that, this one confuses me. Looks like a ton of wear right in the middle in her hair, and on the leg and lower chest of the Eagle. What confuses me is that there doesn't seem to be ANY wear elsewhere. The eagles tail feathers, the base of her neck in the curve where it ends look really nice with nothing detrimental.

It's almost like someone held this between thumb and fore finger and just rubbed away for a year only touching those spots respectively.

That was much ado about nothing for the most part, and probably not much help. Without a book for help, EF judging by the amount of wear that seems to be right in the middle of the obverse....

Yup, and it seems a little scary to me. http://cgi.ebay.com/1921-PEACE-SILV...CS_W0QQitemZ230203487565QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item230203487565

If it's PCGS I'd guess XF45, close to AU--ANACS AU-53.

(I wrote the above before checking the link to the listing--It would definitely need more obvious luster before I'd put in in the AU range.)

I'm a bit conservative when applying a grade (for those who haven't noticed ) ... but no way should this earn an AU! I can't view the link (firewall issues from this location), so I used HABIB's description. What company slabbed it?

This is one of the few times that I don't agree with ANACS. While many of these coins that I have seen show a flat strike in the hair area, I do believe there is some wear. On the reverse, there is definite wear on the eagle. These high relief designs wear differently and a small amount of wear can look like it's more significant than it is. I would have graded it EF40 all day long, but couldn't see going higher than that.

ANACS may have been a little liberal on the grade because many of these have been cleaned and it's not always easy to find one with nice original surfaces. Also, this coin is very popular with collectors. I have noticed that key dates are often graded more liberally by the TPG's.
