Well, I went to the CoinStar today and unloaded all my pocket change that I've saved up for the year...... over $350! (although the CoinStar machine DID NOT like my metal detecting clad finds.......). Anyway, I treated myself to this 1829/7 Bustie! What do you think? Any ideas to a grade? And, any help with an Overton variety would be appreciated! Additional pictures and closeups are available. Thanks, Rick

I am not overly familiar with the bust coinage so I can't help you on variety but I must say that I like the color- pretty crisp coin.

Wow...very clean example! When I first read "Coinstar", I wondered if you found this in the reject slot...

What a beautiful coin! It's an O-101, and although this is a Rarity 1, your example is exceptional! I love the subtle toning with the luster under it. I see very slight wear on the claw and breast. I believe this would grade an easy AU55, possibly 58. There may be strike issues with this one that I'm not aware of. There is always a weaker strike on the 50C with this variety and I believe the flatness on the obverse hair is also due to strike. Merry Christmas to you!

Out of curiosity, Rick, where did you purchase this from? Looks like a nice AU to me, too.

After cashing in at the CoinStar, I walked across the parking lot to a local coin shop..... I picked it out after looking at about a dozen or so busties he had in 2x2s..... I expected his ask price to be higher, but when he told me how much he wanted I couldn't resist. Rick

Wow, a beautiful bust half! Someone's going to have a good Christmas! Are you gonna wrap her up and plunk her under the tree? I would, cause I wouldn't mind opening up a present like that everyday!

Silly Bottleguy, Christmas is a time for giving. So pack that baby up and give it to me.
No? I didn't think so but it was worth a try wasn't it?

Bottleguy, I am new to all of this--my dad is probably snickering up in heaven--he left his amateur collection to me and now the 'bug has bitten me!' Wow--that bustie is gorgeous! I keep seeing more and more beautiful shiny things I want!
