Just wondering. It caught my eye, and I only have one like it.

The 2001-P circulation strikes are all quite weak in that area of the coin. Is this a "P"?

Yes it is a "P". the fields are quite bright, and the beaver looks to be worn, but I believe it is a weak strike giving it that appearance, since it would not wear under the body. The Queen is sharp.

I have beautiful BU's with and without the P that have no missing detail. I'm sure I have a bare belly in my collection but I'll have to look tomorrow I've seen them like this before but there are worse out there... Try this old thread for examples: https://goccf.com/t/177203Hope it helps.

The ones without the P are from different master tools that are strong. The ones with the P are weak. I have an entire roll. All are weak. Also, Wolfman, the weakness is not from wear on the coin, it is due to the dies not having the details to strike up onto the coin. So far as I know, they are all like your coin. Mine are and I have 43 of them.

After going over what I have I've discovered that I have 31 2001 p that are what I consider normal for that year 3 others have the bare belly one a bare back. Of the 12 no P style they all seem to be better defined and no bare belly. Hope this helped

Can we see what the "normal" ones look like? Also, arrows would help as I really don't see any difference between what I posted and what you did. Maybe I'm looking in the wrong place.

I found a 1998 with a similar weak strike.

You can find these in nearly any year. Notice around the neck area also.

It's funny how I never noticed them until I really started looking. Too bad they are pretty common though.
