At the last minute I told my dad I needed these for my 7070. He is VERY eager to help me with completing it and is in full support of me collecting coins. Obviously he said ok. I love the toning on the 1/2 dime. Black but then the high points worn from circulation. Or circulated proof! Naaa. Probably not. But the quarter looks cleaned? Please help! I think I did ok with the price. A bit much maybe? I like the coins and they will look good in my 7070. Giving them a new home! http://www.ebay.com/itm/1853-With-A...047675.l2557

$20 for two old coins that you like? I would say it couldn't get any better than that!

Careful putting the 1/2 dime in your album - they're thin enough to slip into the space where the plastic slides! How is your 7070 set coming along?

It is coming along great. I will probably do a thread that shows the coins in my 7070.

That's super! When you get your quarter, I'm sure you'll take a real close look at the 3 and the right side arrow.

If it were me, I would dip out that quarter ASAP. That looks like active corrosion and it will kill it. Dipping it will NOT diminish the value in the grade it is in. It is too far gone for acetone to help. Needs dipping.
Thanks for posting.

Ok, thank you sooo much for that. What is something good to dip with? I have absolutely no access to coin dips. Is vinegar good?

Dipping always implies acid thiourea. You will see it branded as Jeweluster or E-Z-EST. It is not something you want to try for the first time on any coin you want to keep.

Again, I would try this one some junk material first (silver though, not clad).
While I do not think you would/could ruin this quarter, being a well circulated coin, I would hate for something to go wrong.

I will see if I can get some. Maybe for my birthday witch is June 26th. Lol. I while but I have no other way to dip it so I guess I will have to wait.
EDIT: Hahah! I forgot my own B-day! I meant the 27th.

I think whatever is on that quarter has been there a while. If so, it is not going to change much before then.

Jbuck, I agree, but in the current condition it is pretty much a junk silver coin.
