I Found A Video Of The 1933 Double Eagle Auction

CoinCollector2012 Pillar of the Community United States 8137 Posts	Posted 04/30/2015 8:58 pm My coin club does a thing at every meeting where someone presents a short presentation on a numismatic topic to the attending club members. At the last meeting we had, a member gave a presentation on the fascinating story of the 1933 Double Eagle. As it turns out, one of the club members (who also happens to be a good friend of mine) was actually at the auction!. While he did not buy the coin () he did come back with a pretty amazing story. This story prompted me to see if a video existed of the auction. After a few minutes of youtube searches, I found one pretty easily. The quality isn't that great (remember that the auction was in 2002) but it is still a great video. Enjoy! IkX_iSRWsG8 Report this Post to the Staff
